Michigan Golf Journal June 2019

What a weird spring we had – but that just means you live in Michigan. With warm summer days surrounding us much more consistently, there is no excuse not to get out and golf with friends, family, colleagues or even complete strangers – which is the true beauty of the game – meeting someone new on the first tee and becoming friends by the 18th green. So much golf activity has hit the Michigan landscape that this June edition of Michigan Golf Journal seems to jump all over the map. For starters we’ve got the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give and the PGA Tour’s Rocket Mortgage Classic in June. But we also wanted to bring you a wide variety of stories from the game, and we have them. Ranging from PGA Tour pro Morgan Hoffmann’s quest to stave off the effects of Muscular Dystrophy, to school children learning STEM concepts on a golf course; from a four-generation family golf business to Father’s Day gift ideas, to how high school coaches rallied around another coach who stood up for the integrity of the game. Don’t forget to go outside and tee it up soon – but please enjoy the stories we’ve shared first.
