Michigan Golf Journal June 2019

Swartz Creek High golf coach Wesley Hull and his son, Logan, have been reported by MLive. com to have agreed to lease space for a new golf practice facility, The Grounds, at the former location of King Par, which closed in 2016 in Flushing. MLive.com also reported: ‘Originally, Wesley Hull wanted to open a driving range and training facility at 6122 W. Maple Avenue after purchasing the land in March, 2018. While the family has put in 13 acres of grass, the building isn’t finished…While construction is underway, the family reopened a shop and training facility where King Par used to be after the building’s owner reached out to them… “I have four boys and golf’s something that we’ve always got to do together,” Wesley Hull said. “With the driving range, we’re able to give back to the community and help the youth and high school golf teams grow.”’ Reviving the Former King Par A 36-hole qualifier will allow female amateurs with a verified USGA handicap of 2 or better an opportunity to compete for a sponsor team exemption in the 2019 Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational, July 15-20.
