Try it All: Carl’s Golfland Holds Demo Days

Whether it’s a mid-winter golf fix you need, the desire to test a new piece of equipment you’ve heard about, or just a pre-season chance to get out of the house and mingle with other golf lovers – Carl’s Golfland Demo Days could be the perfect cold-weather cure.

Every Saturday from February 24 to March 31, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, manufacturers reps and Carl’s expert staff will be available to help answer questions and guide golfers who are looking ahead to spring warmth.

Don’t have any questions; that’s okay too – golfers also come to Carl’s Demo Days to hang out with other like-minded people and just bang some balls on the range to help knock off a little winter rust. And new this year is the TrackMan Range at Carl’s Bloomfield location. (www.carlsgolfland.com/trackmanrange)

“You can just watch a lot of people, you can hit balls, you can talk to some manufacturers about their latest products, or their interpretation of the latest, biggest story in the golf media. It’s all there for golfers to experience. It’s all pretty unique, it’s pretty cool,” said Chris Coffman – a former manufacturers rep but now tournament director of the new Ally Challenge PGA Tour Champions event coming to Grand Blanc in September. “I’ve been to events like these in a lot of different parts of the United States, whether it be the west coast or the east coast or the Midwest,” Coffman added about his Demo Days experiences dating back to 1994. “The spirit of the Carl’s Demo Days has always been celebrating the game of golf. What’s so interesting about it is that they’ve been around for 60 years so they have the cache to really know how to do it. It’s always fun to watch so many different people in the spectrum coming to be part of Demo Days for all different kinds of reasons. It’s really fun.”

Both Carl’s locations, in Bloomfield Hills and The Inn at St. Johns in Plymouth, will host Demo Days with manufacturers rotating at one location one Saturday then the other store another Saturday. Special appearances at the Carl’s Bloomfield location include: March 10, Austie Rollinson – Chief Designer Odyssey Putters; and March 24, Petra Petrich – Senior Engineering Manager, Callaway Golf Ball R&D.

“When we come back from the PGA Merchandise Show in January we know all the new stuff that’s coming, and Demo Days gives customers a first shot at trying the new items in a setting that relaxed and laid back,” said Carl’s COO Casey Baker. “There is no pressure to buy. Customers can try as many times as they want.

“Manufacturers’ reps are onsite to answer any questions about the product, especially on new technology. It’s a pretty easy way to test and try all the products – and that time of year the Golf Digest HotList is coming out so it’s an exciting time in golf.”
