Anika Dy, a junior at Traverse City West High School, led the Titans to their second state championship the last three seasons. She also claimed the individual Division 1 state title for the second consecutive time with a 36-hole 3-under par.
Her scoring average in the fall of 2017 was a phenomenal 69.6, and out of the 10 rounds she played in, six were scored in the 60s and the other four were even-par. Her season low round was a 7-under 65, but more impressive was her highest was just 72.
Ironically, in her first tournament of the season she had to settle for runner-up to her sister, freshman Anci Dy, who beat her by one stroke. Aside from that tournament, Anika won all her events that followed for a total of eight medalist honors. She is verbally committed to the University of Michigan.
