The 118 th U.S. Open will be contested at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, in Southampton, E͘z͘ ;ĨŽƌ ƚŚĞ ϱ th ƟŵĞͿ :ƵŶĞ ϭϰͲϭϳ͘ Two Michigan courses – Muskegon Country Club an d Knollwood Country Club – will host Local YƵĂůŝĮĞƌƐ͕ DĂLJ ϳ ĂŶĚ DĂLJ ϭϱ͕ ƌĞƐƉĞĐƟǀĞůLJ͘ /Ŷ ĂĚĚŝƟŽŶ͕ ƚŚĞ ĂƩůĞ Creek Country Club will host ŽŶ :ƵŶĞ ϴ Ă ^ĞĐƟŽŶĂů ĨŽƌ ƚŚĞ U.S. Senior Open. Several U.S. Open champions have advanced to the championship through ďŽƚŚ ůŽĐĂů ĂŶĚ ƐĞĐƟŽŶĂů ƋƵĂůŝĨLJŝŶŐ Ăƚ ƐŽŵĞ ƉŽŝŶƚ ŝŶ their careers, including Lucas Glover, David Graham, Lou Graham, Hale Irwin, Tony Jacklin, Lee Janzen, Tom Kite, Johnny Miller, Corey Pavin, ƵƌƟƐ ^ƚƌĂŶŐĞ͕ >ĞĞ dƌĞǀŝŶŽ ĂŶĚ &ƵnjnjLJ ŽĞůůĞƌ͘ Ken Venturi (1964) and Orville Moody (1969) are the only players to win the h͘^͘ KƉĞŶ ĂŌĞƌ ƋƵĂůŝĨLJŝŶŐ through both local and ƐĞĐƟŽŶĂů ƉůĂLJ͘ To be eligible, a player must have a Handicap Index® not exceeding 1.4, or be a professional.
