GAM News ZŝĐŬ ĐĂŵĞ ĂůŽŶŐ͕ <ĂƌĞŶ ŚĂĚ to take a hiatus from the golf course for a few years, but as soon as she was able, she was back out on the links. Of course, ZŝĐŚ ĂŶĚ <ĂƌĞŶ ŝŶƚƌŽĚƵĐĞĚ their kids to golf and now the ZĂĐŚŶĞƌ ĨŽƵƌƐŽŵĞ Ăƚ ƚŚĞ ' D Scramble is a summer ritual. ͞/ƚ͛Ɛ ĂďŽƵƚ ĐŽŵŝŶŐ ŽƵƚ ĂŶĚ ĐŽŵƉĞƟŶŐ͕ ƚƌLJŝŶŐ ƚŽ ǁŝŶ ĂŶĚ ďĞŝŶŐ ƚŽŐĞƚŚĞƌ ĂƐ Ă ĨĂŵŝůLJ͕͟ ƐĂŝĚ ZŝĐŚ͘ “Golf has brought us all closer together as a family because we have been able to share so ŵĂŶLJ ĨƵŶ ƟŵĞƐ ƚŽŐĞƚŚĞƌ͕͟ ƐĂŝĚ <ĂƌĞŶ͘ ͞/ ůŽŽŬ ĨŽƌǁĂƌĚ ƚŽ ƚŚĞ day when our grandkids can ĂůƐŽ ũŽŝŶ ƵƐ ŝŶ ĨƵƚƵƌĞ ĞǀĞŶƚƐ͘͟ &Žƌ ƚŚĞ ZĂĐŚŶĞƌƐ͕ ŝƚ ŝƐŶ͛ƚ ũƵƐƚ ĂďŽƵƚ ǁĂŶƟŶŐ ƚŽ ǁŝŶ͖ ŝƚ ŝƐ ĂďŽƵƚ ǁĂŶƟŶŐ ƚŽ ǁŝŶ ǁŝƚŚ ĞĂĐŚ ŽƚŚĞƌ͘ dŚƌŽƵŐŚ ƚŚĞ ĨƵŶ ƟŵĞƐ ĂŶĚ ƚŚĞ ƚŽƵŐŚ ƟŵĞƐ͕ ƚŚƌŽƵŐŚ ƚŚĞ ϰϬͲĨŽŽƚ ďŝƌĚŝĞ ƉƵƩƐ ĂŶĚ the tee shot into the trees, the ZĂĐŚŶĞƌƐ ĂƌĞ ŽƵƚ ŽŶ ƚŚĞ ĐŽƵƌƐĞ ƐƵƉƉŽƌƟŶŐ ĞĂĐŚ ŽƚŚĞƌ ĂŶĚ ĨŽĐƵƐŝŶŐ ŽŶ ƚŚĞ ƉŽƐŝƟǀĞ͘ What makes the GAM Scramble event so great is the fact that a family of golfers or foursome of friends can compete on an even level ďĞĐĂƵƐĞ ŽĨ ƚŚĞ h^' ͬ',/E Handicap System. You don’t have to be a scratch golfer to compete on a high level. The GAM Scramble format allows for a variety of skill levels to compete. So, this tournament isn’t just meant ĨŽƌ ƚŚĞ ĐŽŵƉĞƟƟǀĞ ƐĐƌĂƚĐŚ golfer; it’s meant for every player, of every ability, with any schedule. ZŝĐŬ ZĂĐŚŶĞƌ ƉƌŽǀĞƐ ƚŚĂƚ Ă busy lifestyle doesn’t prohibit you from enjoying a round ŽĨ ĐŽŵƉĞƟƟǀĞ ŐŽůĨ ǁŝƚŚ ƚŚĞ ĨĂŵŝůLJ͘ ZŝĐŬ ůĞĂƌŶĞĚ ƚŚĞ ŐĂŵĞ from Karen when he was 10 and the two of them spent a ůŽƚ ŽĨ ƟŵĞ ƉůĂLJŝŶŐ Ăƚ ƚŚĞ ŽůĚ /ŶĚĞƉĞŶĚĞŶĐĞ 'ƌĞĞŶ ĞdžĞĐƵƟǀĞ course then going to Big Boy ĂŌĞƌǁĂƌĚ͘ These days, between work and three kids in travel sports, ZŝĐŬ ĚŽĞƐŶ͛ƚ ŚĂǀĞ ĂƐ ŵƵĐŚ ƟŵĞ ƚŽ ĚĞǀŽƚĞ ƚŽ ŐŽůĮŶŐ ĂƐ ŚĞ ĚŝĚ when he was 10. But the GAM Scramble event is the one thing ƚŽ ǁŚŝĐŚ ŚĞ ŝƐ ĐŽŵŵŝƩĞĚ͘ ͞/ ŵĂĚĞ Ă ƉƌŽŵŝƐĞ ƚŽ ŵLJƐĞůĨ ƚŚĂƚ / ǁŚĞŶĞǀĞƌ / ĐŽƵůĚ͕ / ǁŽƵůĚ ŵĂŬĞ ƟŵĞ ƚŽ ƉůĂLJ ŝŶ ƚǁŽͲƉĞƌƐŽŶ Žƌ ĨŽƵƌͲƉĞƌƐŽŶ events like the GAM Scramble ǁŝƚŚ ŵLJ ĨĂŵŝůLJ͕͟ ƐĂŝĚ ZŝĐŬ͘ ͞/ ƉůĂŶ ƚŽ ĐŽŶƟŶƵĞ ƚŽ ƉůĂLJ ŝŶ the Scramble and would like to play in some of the GAM’s ŝŶĚŝǀŝĚƵĂů ĐŽŵƉĞƟƟŽŶƐ ǁŚĞŶ / ŚĂǀĞ Ă ůŝƩůĞ ŵŽƌĞ ĨƌĞĞ ƟŵĞ͘͟ dŚĞƌĞ ŝƐ ƐƟůů ƉůĞŶƚLJ ŽĨ ƟŵĞ to put together a foursome and register for the GAM Scramble. Upcoming qualifying events are: Wabeek Country Club 7/30/2019 dƌĞĞƚŽƉƐ ZĞƐŽƌƚ ;:ŽŶĞƐ Masterpiece) ϴͬϱͬϮϬϭϴ Muskegon Country Club 8/20/2018 Teams cannot have more than two players with a GAM/ h^' ,ĂŶĚŝĐĂƉ /ŶĚĞdž ůŽǁĞƌ ƚŚĂŶ ϭϬ͘Ϭ͘ ZĞŐŝƐƚƌĂƟŽŶ ŝƐ ΨϯϬϬ ƉĞƌ ƚĞĂŵ ĨŽƌ ZĞŐŝŽŶĂů YƵĂůŝĮĞƌƐ ĂŶĚ ΨϰϮϬ ƉĞƌ ƚĞĂŵ for the State Championship.
