Other highlights for Nagel: • She had eight starts on the LPGA Tour 2015 and 2016, including finishing 63rd at the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open • In 2019 on the Symetra Tour, Nagel made 13 cuts in 19 starts with two top- 15 finishes • At MSU she helped lead the Spartans to three Big Ten titles The topic of surviving cancer does get a lot of attention for Nagel, but she’s come to accept it. “I’m at the point now that I’m really proud to be a cancer survivor and I hope I can inspire people,” she said. “Thyroid cancer has a big group of survivors but doesn’t get the attention like breast cancer does… I’m going to wear it proudly on my sleeve and represent it on the big Tour.
