Sometimes you’ve heard a story 10 times before. Sometimes it’s brand new. Either way, the stories are always enjoyable and intriguing when they’re told by a legend. Jack Nicklaus is one such legend. A World Golf Hall of Famer and PGA Tour record holder at 18 majors won, Nicklaus entertained and delighted a crowd of 300-plus in late June at GAM’s Centennial celebration and fund-raiser for Youth on Course (www. gam.org/Foundation/). Barely anyone moved for an hour and 15 minutes (Nicklaus spent almost as much time with media beforehand, too) as moderator Frank Beckmann of WJR-AM led a fireside chat with Nicklaus after dinner at Oakland Hills.
