Michigan Golf Journal Ally Challenge in Grand Blanc The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren has an auction challenge for golf lovers who want to carry the bag of Jack Nicklaus, or his playing partners in the Celebrity Shootout, which will take place on Saturday, September 14 following the last tournament pairing of round two, beginning on Hole No. 10 at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club. The auction closes at 9:00 pm on Sept. 10. If you don’t want to carry a bag for one of the four celebrities, you can still bid to walk inside the ropes for this special event. All the money raised goes to two community charities. “We’ve really taken this tournament to the next level in year two and can’t wait to welcome everyone to Warwick Hills,” said Andrea Brimmer, chief marketing and public relations officer, Ally. “Adding Red Wings legend Henrik Zetterberg to the Celebrity Foursome was the final piece of what will be an amazing day on tournament Saturday.” The pairings for this marquee competition will feature Nicklaus and Kid Rock (the pair are friends; Kid Rock is a member at one of Jack’s clubs in south Florida) verses Bentley and Zetterberg in a nine-hole team scramble, match- play format. The teams will compete for a $25,000 purse to benefit the tournament’s primary charitable partners, Genesee County Habitat for Humanity and United Way of Genesee County. Bentley will headline the Community Concert that same evening, after the second round of play in the 54-hole pro tournament.
