Michigan Golf Journal August 2020
Michigan Golf Journal Revisiting Interlochen Brad Dean – a former three-time Michigan PGA Teacher of the Year – made the career-defining jump to owning his own golf course a little less than four years ago. And it’s clear that the quaint, northern Michigan, Interlochen Golf Course is all the better for it. In a late June visit I found a brand new outdoor patio with a retractable roof to accommodate even more seats for dining, beyond the wonderful complete remodeling that took place two years earlier of the bar and indoor eating space of the original clubhouse. It was then, and is even more so now, one of the finer places to eat along US-31 west of Traverse City. It is aptly named Bradley’s Pub and Grille . Ongoing course conditions have also improved with the help of Superintendent Jim Harris, despite the fact the course gets more play than ever. During my visit I joined former Chicago Cub baseball player Dan Rohn from Alpena in a Sunday morning skins game with more than 2 dozen golfers. Interlochen Golf Course Continues to Grow By Tom Lang
