(October 21, 2020) -- Carl’s Golfland today announced the final donation in its #ShankThisVirus campaign – a $26,000 gift to the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) to help the non-profit, which saw a significant financial impact from the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. “The support Vietnam Veterans of America provides to our veterans is more vital than ever since the onset of the pandemic,” said Carl Rose, president of the Michigan-based golf retailer. “It is my hope that this donation will help ensure the health of VVA as it continues its work advocating for our heroes to get the support and services they deserve.” Carl’s Golfland’s #ShankThisVirus campaign raised more than $625,000 through the sales of T-shirts and personal donations made by Rose’s family for communities affected by COVID-19 around the country. “When COVID-19 hit, our organization was forced to scale back our work even as we were studying the impact of the virus on aging veterans,” said John Rowan, National President for VVA, a non-profit organization based in Silver Springs, Md. “This donation will help us to continue our work and restore services and outreach to our members.” Carl’s Golfland’s #ShankThisVirus campaign helped bring professional and amateur golfers together during an unprecedented pandemic to help fight COVID-19.
