BLYTHEFIELD RENOVATIONS CUTTING CLOSE TO JUNE LPGA TOUR EVENT Michigan Golf Journal Under Construction If the weather doesn’t cooperate over the next 8 months, there could be some nail-biting going on at Blythefield Country Club come next year’s Meijer LPGA Classic, June 7-13. The Grand Rapids area club began its master plan renovations the first week of August on the back nine, then shut down the entire course Sept. 8. The host of six Meijer LPGA Classics is undergoing a major facelift by rebuilding all 18 tee boxes to make them laser- leveled, plus most green complexes are undergoing bunker renovations and infrastructure improvements. The members are spending $3.7 million; that includes the addition of a short- game practice area and By Tom Lang Hole 7 green expansion
