Michigan Golf Journal Safe at Reynolds Reynolds Lake Oconee: Relaxed Atmosphere and Wonderful Golf By Fred Altvater Reynolds Lake Oconee has been a top destination resort for many years – with 117 holes of spectacular golf. Lake Oconee offers 374 miles of shoreline as well, so fishing, boating and other water recreation is central to the Reynolds experience. The Ritz Carlton provides the finer details in overnight accommodations, plus the resort can offer cottages and condominiums for a group, or family, that wants to maintain closeness but not be enmeshed with other guests. In these uncertain times Reynolds Lake Oconee has trained every staff member and taken every precaution to keep guests safe yet maintaining the high standards of service that is the norm for Reynolds Lake Oconee. Golf Galore: Reynolds Lake Oconee offers courses from multiple great designers, so golfers can be assured a wide variety of options to enjoy the game. The 27 holes at the National were designed by Tom Fazio and opened for play in 2000. The 3 nine-hole layouts – Bluff, Ridge and Cove – feature dramatic elevation changes and Lake Oconee affects play on several holes. The Oconee Course was designed by Rees Jones and features gently rolling Georgia topography and tall pines that frame every hole. The Great Waters Course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened for play in 1992 but was completely renovated and reopened in October last year.
