Michigan Golf Journal College Corner MSU Women Win Big Ten Title, Again The MSU Spartans won the Big Ten Women’s Championship for the program’s 6 th time in the last 10 years, and the 3 rd time since 2017. The title gives the Spartans an automatic bid into the NCAA regionals, in Louisville. MSU led from wire-to-wire and finished with a team 11-under par at the course they seem to dominate; TPC River’s Bend. The Spartans have won their last three Big Ten titles at TPC River’s Bend and this year’s 11-under-par 853 was the lowest of their three winning scores at the course. The University of Michigan shot 4-under par 284 the final two rounds to climb into a 3-way tie for runner up with Maryland and Nebraska, all finishing five strokes behind MSU. Valery Plata of MSU and Ashley Lau of Michigan tied for third place at 5-under par, 211. The pair earned co- Players of the Week in the Big Ten the week prior to the Big Ten Championship.
