The Highlands The Heather was the course that started it all at BOYNE Golf. It was the 2018 Michigan Golf Course of theYear and in 2019 it was named the National Golf Course of theYear by the National Golf Course Owners Association. The Heather was designed by Robert Trent Jones, opened for play in 1966 and began the trend for ski resorts to offer upscale golf in the summer.
