“I watch the Masters every year and it’s really cool to see the great players there, and all the history. I just think it’s going to be great to walk the golf course and see the different fairways and greens at each hole.”

Regional win at Muirfield Village:

“My driving was pretty good. My first two chip shots weren’t my best but then my third one I knew I had to make up for them and I think I did that. My putting wasn’t great; that’s what really made me question if I got in or not. Before I could look at the leaderboard, one of my competitors also from Michigan told me I was going to Augusta. It was cool to see I really am.”

Other notes:

“My initials are PAR, so I was kind of born to golf. Once my parents realized it (spelled out that way) they didn’t want to change it because they were into golf as well. Technically they didn’t do it on purpose, until they realized it.”

Regional win at Muirfield Village:

“In driving I did decent, for being in a pouring rain. And then for chipping I made good chips but it caught on the grass and I didn’t hit it hard enough. Then for putting the six-footer I got 20 points, the 15-footer I got 20 points, and then I made the 30-footer for 25 points. All in pouring, pouring rain.”

Other notes

Maybank was recently highlighted in a TV segment on the Golf Channel, taped at Bay Hill with Rickie Fowler and Tommy Fleetwood. “It was so surreal meeting those guys.”

In preparing for his third DC&P Finals, Maybank has been practicing his drives on FlightScope on a grid only 20 yards wide because he said the one at Augusta is 40 yards wide. “So, when I get there it should look a lot bigger.”

Regional win at Muirfield Village

“I learned about never giving up. It was rainy all day and really cold. I hit my first two drives out of the grid, but the third one stayed in and the score held up. I made almost all my putts so that was great.”
