Ben Hogan Introduces New Ft. Worth Irons

By Ed Travis

The iconic Ben Hogan brand has introduced two new models for better players.

The Ben Hogan brand, now owned by Golf Brands Inc, is making a huge comeback. The Las Vegas-based company also owns and markets Macgregor, Ram, Teardrop and Zebra.

Both muscle backs and cavity backs are forged from carbon steel with a piece of ceramic matrix composite (CMC) forged inside. CMC is lighter than steel and allows exact placement in the center of gravity of the club face, depending on the loft and head configuration, which helps with performance, forgiveness and launch characteristics.

Lofts and lies are the same in both muscle and cavity back irons. Mixed sets with cavity back are available for the long irons and muscle back for the shorter irons, without the problem of loft and distance gaps.

We have always liked Hogan’s V-Sole which has a high bounce leading edge and lower bounce trailing edge for help in getting the head through even long grass.

Finally, these wouldn’t fulfill the Hogan legacy if they weren’t good looking at address and they are.

If you are looking for a traditional look and feel from your irons, these Ben Hogan clubs should fit well in your bag.
