Chris Whitten Plays 100 Holes in One Day for Youth on Course

Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) Executive Director Chris Whitten said it was harder than he ever imagined.

“Thank goodness for all your support,” he said. “At the end of the day we raised almost $4,000 so Michigan kids can play golf around the state for only $5 per round. Pretty cool.”

Whitten participated in the 100 Hole Hike fundraiser for Youth on Course at Chandler Park Golf Course in Detroit in early October, just two days after returning from overseas. He played and walked 100 holes and scored 22 birdies and one eagle, logging 20.2 miles.

The non-profit GAM Foundation’s Youth on Course program allows kids ages 6-18 to play golf for $5 at 100 Michigan courses around the state. The GAM Foundation accepts donations to help grow the game through Youth on Course and other programs. Learn more at www.gam.org.
