Fifth Award in Seven Years for Raymond Hearn

Raymond Hearn Golf Course Design’s master planning of the historic Maple Lane Golf Course (1926) in Sterling Heights, has been recognized by The American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) with a 2019 Design Excellence Recognition Award. It is the fifth ASGCA Design Excellence Award won by Hearn’s Holland-based firm in the last seven years.

“It is a great honor to receive recognition for our golf course master planning work at Maple Lane,” said Hearn, a Detroit native who played Maple Lane often as a youth. “We’re proud of the Maple Lane Golf Course project, and proud that we have been recognized by the ASGCA. We feel fortunate to have won this award once again. All awards are wonderful, but to have it come from golf industry professionals makes it extra special.”

Hearn’s golf course master plan includes the design of an upscale resort-style 18 holes and a 9-hole par three course both that will features some classic Golden Age green designs.
