GAM Reveals 2025 Highlights In Annual Report

The Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) and Foundation experienced a landmark year in 2025.

The 2025 GAM Annual Report, captures the growth, achievements, and momentum driving the golf association forward. The annual report reflects the strength of GAM’s membership, the impact of our programs, and our shared commitment to growing and enjoying the game in Michigan.

For the first time GAM surpassed 107,000 members. Youth on Course in Michigan saw record reaching nearly 18,000 junior members. It was their strongest year ever and reinforces our commitment to affordable access and long-term growth of the game.

The GAM Foundation supported Youth on Course (YOC) by subsidizing payments to participating Michigan golf courses that allow reduced greens fees to junior golfers. Last year in Michigan, YOC served over 40,400 junior golfers accounting for over 120,550 rounds played.

The Foundation provided grants for GAM sponsored junior tournaments, as well as PGA Player Development Grants. They also helped with PGA Golf in Schools program and endowed scholarship grants for Ferris State University’s PGM students. The Foundation also supported PGA HOPE Michigan (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) with needed funding.

The GAM Foundation sponsors an educational scholarship for PGM (Professional Golf Management) students attending Ferris State University. All PGM students at Ferris State are eligible to apply for this award. Past participation in Youth on Course Michigan or the GAM is considered in the selection process with the hope that the scholarship recipient will offer YOC opportunities at their future golf facility. The GAM Foundation makes annual contributions from its general fund to the scholarship endowment managed by the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. Direct contributions can be made out to Community Foundation For Southeast Michigan or CFSEM with GAM Foundation written in the memo line.

In 2025, GAM conducted 31 championships, hosted 13 USGA Qualifiers, and delivered over 135 tournament days across the state. These events are important because they provide competitive opportunities for golfers of all ages and abilities.

GAM completed another successful year of servicing Michigan golfers. It is alive and these accomplishments would not be possible without the help of their dedicated members, volunteers, host facilities, and partners.
