Former MSU golfer and 2021 U.S. Amateur Champion just completed his first season as a professional on the new LIV Golf Tour. Out of the 60 professionals that competed in the eight events in 2022, Piot finished a respectable 30th on the money list.
Only 48 players are invited to participate every week in the no-cut LIV events. Finishing inside the Top 36 at year’s end should allow him exemption into the 2023 LIV Tour’s schedule of tournaments.
The first event of the LIV season was held in London, in June. Tournaments were also held in New York, Portland, Boston, Chicago, Bangkok, Jeddah and Miami.
The rookie showed consistent performance throughout the year and only finished outside the Top 25 in one event. His season was highlighted by a sixth-place finish in Bangkok.
For the year Piot earned nearly $1.7 million, plus was reportedly paid a $1 million signing bonus to join the LIV Tour.
