Michigan Colleges Sign New Recruits

Michigan State and the University of Michigan men’s and women’s golf teams – along with Wayne State, EMU, Saginaw Valley, Oakland, Northwood and Hillsdale College – signed new recruits in mid-November to join their college golf programs in the fall of 2020.

New Michigan golf coach Zach Barlow, who became head of the Wolverine’s program this summer from Big Ten rival Illinois, signed Will Anderson of Portage Central High, Ben Hoagland (Evansville, Ind.) and Jack O’Donnell (Cohasset, Mass.), who was the Massachusetts high school co-state champion in 2017.

The women’s program in Ann Arbor recruited and signed one player, Monet Chun – of Richmond Hill, Ontario Canada, a three-year member of the Golf Canada Junior National Team.

Michigan State men’s golf coach Casey Lubahn announced the signing of two Michigan natives: Tyler Eedy (West Branch) and August Meekhof (Coopersville) will both join the Spartans. Meekhof is the No. 1 ranked Junior player in Michigan, followed by Eedy at No. 2, both by National Junior Golf Scoreboard.

Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll continued a trend for the MSU Women of attracting top talent from outside the state, this year with Leila Raines (Galena, Ohio) and Valentina Rossi (Rosario, Argentina) joining the Spartans for the 2020-21 season.
