Daniel P. Dingman, the Class A Golf Course Superintendent at Birmingham Country Club in Birmingham, has been elected as the Michigan Golf Course Superintendents Association (MiGCSA) Chapter President for 2018.
Other officers elected to the MiGSCA board include Vice President Jeff Sweet, CGCS from Bucks Run Golf Club in Mt. Pleasant and Rob Steger, CGCS from Saginaw Country Club.
New members elected to the board include Doug Hoeh from Treetops Resort, Scott Pulaski from Walloon Lake Country Club, Andrew Dalton from Metamora Golf & Country Club and Ryan Moore from Forrest Lake Country Club.
Each of these men and others like them should be praised for their tireless work behind the scenes and in the wee hours of the morning getting the golf courses we love into tip-top shape. It’s incredibly hard to get everything just right – especially considering that the game we play takes place on top of a plant – a plant that is susceptible to wide ranges of human use, weather, and other factors beyond a superintendent’s control.
So, like the TV commercial says: ‘don’t forget to thank your superintendent.’
