Local golfer, Pinya Pipatarasgit from Sylvania, competed in the U.S. Junior Girls Championship at Boone Valley outside of St. Louis in July. In the first two rounds of individual medal play she posted rounds of 79-74. That left her outside the top 64, which qualify for the match play portion.
The eventual winner, 19-year-old Erica Shepard from Greenwood, Indiana, outlasted Jennifer Chang to win the title.
