When the Eastern Michigan University men’s golf team returns to campus this fall there will be little need for introductions. The Eagles return five student-athletes that contributed last year, losing just seniors Tyler Lewis and Nic Ross to graduation.
Under the direction of 26th-year head coach Bruce Cunningham, Eastern will be paced by lone senior Beau Breault. Breault led EMU last year with a 73.79 average in 28 events, including a top-billing at the Dayton Flyer Invitational, when he fired a 212 (72-67-73). Over the summer, the Heartland, Mich. native won the prestigious 107th Michigan Amateur Championship after being the runner-up the year prior.
EMU will also rely heavily on sophomores Ty Celone, Cougar Collins, Tony Fuentes, and Tyler Rayman along with junior Zach Sudinsky.
Eastern Michigan opens the season at the EKU Intercollegiate, Sept. 15-16, with other fall tournaments at Northwestern, at Akron and at Indiana. For more information about EMU golf, visit EMUEagles.com or like @EMU_Golf on Twitter.
