Western Michigan is currently in its second year under head coach Elise Swartout-Mosher. Swartout-Mosher is the third coach in program history and the first WMU golf alum to take the helm. In her first season as head coach the Broncos finished in the top five of eight tournaments and the top three of seven. The team also posted the lowest stroke average in program history at 304.5.
Highlights:
- Senior Julia Champion won her third collegiate tournament in the fall. The Markham, Ontario native finished first at the Shirley Spork Eastern Michigan University Invitational after shooting a 54-hole total of 218 (+2). Champion won two tournaments last season, the Rocket Classic and the Silver Lake Shootout.
- WMU finished third at both the KZoo Classic and the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational.
- WMU shot a team season-low of 903 back on Sept. 18-19 at the Cardinal Classic, hosted by Ball State.
- The Broncos will host their annual Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz. Feb. 23-25.
