Spring Event Designed for Women Golfers

A fun, social and instructional event geared for women will be held on Sunday, May 20 – the MI Golf League Championship’s inaugural League Women’s Day – at the Emerald Golf Course in St. Johns.

The MI Golf League Championship is administered by the Michigan Golf Course Association as a way to facilitate golf in a fun, but also competitive setting, for those who enjoy one or both aspects of the game.

At this inaugural event, famed LPGA instructor Patti Butcher will be on hand to speak and give tips on ways women can improve their golf game and scoring. Patti is based at Scott Lake Golf & Practice Center in Grand Rapids and was named 2010 LPGA National Golf Professional of the Year, among other teaching awards. She has also twice made it on Golf Digest magazine’s list of top 50 best women teachers in America.

Details of the event include:

  • 9-hole two-person best ball event
  • Skills clinic by Patti
