Michigan Will Host Two LPGA Events LPGA fans will have two opportunities, one in June and the other in July, to see the best women golfers in the world competing in Michigan. Meijer LPGA Classic The Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give will once again be held at Blythefield Country Club in Grand Rapids, June 1619. Last year, Nelly Korda s l i p p e d past Leona Maguire to garner her fifth LPGA career win and her second win of 2021. The following week, Korda won the Women’s PGA Championship and went on to capture the Gold Medal at the Japan Olympics, in August. Maguire went on to be the star of the European Solheim Cup Team that routed the Americans at The Inverness Club in Toledo, in September. This will be the eighth year this event has been held since 2014. It was canceled in 2020, due to COVID. It is a 72-hole stroke play tournament, with 144 players vying for a piece of the $2.5 million purse. $1.1 million for Simply Give and has increased that goal to $1.2 million for 2022.
