MSU golfer Yurika Tanida was the overall winner of the 34th annual MWGA State Championship, played in mid-July at Hawk Hollow Golf Course in Bath. Tanida shot a 138 gross (72, 66).
Her MSU coach, Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll, was low Gross scoring 75-69 in the first flight, and Darci Stocker of Flint was low Net. The runners up were Julie Massa of Holt in Gross and Donna Tepper of Grosse Pointe Park in Net.
