Jonathan (Jon) Scott, President of Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort, passed away on April 23, 2020. He passionately promoted golf and related businesses at the local, state, national, and international levels, and did so with a humanitarian focus that is praiseworthy. One role was as vice president of the Michigan Golf Course Association.
Jon ran his businesses with the goal of improving the lives of everyone they affected, including his employees, customers, business associates, and members of the community at large. He gave freely of his time and resources to better his local community and took leadership roles in organizations devoted to improving education – like serving on the Gull lake Community School Board – and otherwise improving the lives of children and their families.
“Jon was a respected leader in the golf industry,” said Kathy Aznavorian, president of Fox Hills in Plymouth. “His insight was always valuable. Jon was very knowledgeable and a good resource on so many topics. He kept abreast of technology, politics and good management practices. Jon was always willing to extend the family welcome to colleagues and guests. He will be missed.”
His family asks those who wish to commemorate Jon to contribute to organizations that he whole-heartedly supported, such as the Gull Lake Community School Foundation www.glcsf.org or Family & Children Services fcsource.org, or to similar organizations in their communities.
