Plymouth’s Bridget Boczar wins Miss Golf

Plymouth senior Bridget Boczar just kept getting better each year, capping off her senior golf season being voted Miss Golf by the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association.

In 2021, Boczar averaged 70.81 on the season, won her Regional with a 72, and won the Division 1 State Championship with a 74-69-143. That score was just one stroke ahead of her twin sister, Grace (144), who also made All-State first-team in Div. 1. The sisters have signed to play collegiately at Oakland University.

Bridget was medalist or runner up in every event this season. She also broke every Plymouth girls’ golf record: low 9 hole score, low 18 hole score (67, breaking her own tied record from last year), low 9 hole average for a season, low 18 hole average for a season. She also earned her third All-State Super Team award.

“We have had a lot of great golfers at Plymouth over the past 10 years I’ve been here and she is the best of the best,” said head coach Dan Young. “She has worked extremely hard to improve in all areas of her game and she’s a big time competitor.”

Bridget’s average score as a junior was 71.3. Last year she won five tournaments during the season, including the Kensington Valley conference title and regional championship before taking 4th at the Div. 1 state finals.
